Privacy Policy

Last updated September 28, 2026

This policy explains what information FirstCall Permits (“FirstCall Permits”, “we”) collects, how we use it and the choices you have. It covers two groups of people: customers who use our service, and property owners named in the public permit records we compile.

Information about customers

When you sign up and use FirstCall Permits, we collect:

  • Account details: your email address and password (stored hashed by our authentication provider). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google, and never your Google password.
  • Business details: company name, business address (which we convert to map coordinates to rank Leads by distance), the trades you offer and the ZIP codes you serve.
  • Pipeline activity: the Leads you save, statuses, quote amounts, follow-up dates, notes and related history.
  • Billing details: your subscription plan and status. Payment card details are collected and stored by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Technical data: sign-in cookies that keep you logged in, and standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) used for security and debugging.

How we use customer information

  • To provide the service: matching Leads to your trades and area, ranking them and showing your pipeline.
  • To send the emails you've asked for, such as lead digests, permit status alerts and follow-up reminders, plus essential account and billing messages.
  • To bill you, prevent fraud and secure the service.
  • To improve the product, including aggregated, de-identified analysis of which permit types turn into won jobs.
  • To respond to you when you contact us.

We don't sell customer information or share it with other customers. We don't use it for third-party advertising.

Information about property owners

FirstCall Permits compiles building permit records that local governments make public, obtained through a licensed permit-data provider. A record may include the property address, the owner or applicant name, the type and description of work, the permit status and dates, and the estimated job value. We don't collect phone numbers or email addresses for property owners.

We share this information only with subscribing contractors, for the purpose of offering services related to the permitted work, under Terms that prohibit reselling it, using it for credit, insurance, employment or housing decisions, or using it to harass anyone.

Opting out. If you're a property owner and don't want your permit records shown to our customers, email [email protected] with the property address. We'll suppress it from future Leads within 10 business days. The underlying record stays available from your county or city, since we don't control public records.

Service providers we use

We share information only with vendors who process it for us to run the service:

  • Supabase: database, authentication and scheduled jobs
  • Google: optional sign-in with your Google account
  • Vercel: website hosting
  • Stripe: payments and subscription billing
  • Resend: email delivery
  • Shovels: building permit data
  • U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder: converting your business address to coordinates

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. In that case, this policy continues to apply to the information.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember the plan you chose on our pricing page. We don't currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we add product analytics, we'll update this policy first.

Retention

We keep customer information while your account is open. After you close your account, we delete or de-identify your business and pipeline data within 90 days. We keep billing records as long as tax and accounting law requires. Permit records are kept while they're useful for the service and then removed from active Leads.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our infrastructure providers. Database access is restricted per account, and only authorized staff can reach internal data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Your choices and rights

  • Update your business details and email preferences anytime in Settings.
  • Turn off the weekly lead digest in Settings. Account and billing emails can't be turned off while your account is open.
  • Ask us to access, correct, export or delete your information by emailing [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days and may need to verify your identity first.

Children

FirstCall Permits is a business service and isn't directed to anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll tell customers by email or in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
